Support the Black Lake Ranch Swap!

Support the Idaho Fish & Game’s proposal for a land swap with the Black Lake Ranch.  This is a once in a generation opportunity to preserve and restore 5 miles of Cd’A river waterfront to wetlands.  The swap will shut off the notorious ranch pumps thereby cleaning up a toxin filled Black Lake, providing rare and valuable wetlands for breeding swans, migratory birds and water fowl, and increasing the beauty and nature of the Trails of Coeur D’Alene.  The Swap helps our entire region.  Black Lake drains into Cd’A River and Cd’A Lake passing the toxins and heavy metals downstream!

Act Now

Shut off the Black Lake Ranch Pumps

The notorious Black Lake Ranch Pumps have been continuously pumping farm sewage, lead, arsenic and other heavy metals directly into Black Lake, which drains directly into Cd’A River and Cd’A Lake.  Black Lake is on the top of the list of dirtiest lakes in Idaho due to these pumps.  It is no longer safe for our children to play in!  The regular toxic blue-green algae blooms are a hazard for all humans, especially children, dogs, other animals, and for fish habitat.  The fish are toxic to eat for the local fisherman and their families.  Restoring the wetlands and turning off these pumps will indispensably improve the water quality of Black Lake and the Cd’A waterways!
